On 4 November 2026, the Arts Council of Wales relaunched the Sharing Together funding scheme, providing grants ranging from £500 to £3,500. The programme aims to support the development and growth of creative networks across Wales, encouraging collaboration and connection among artists, practitioners, and communities.
The fund is designed to foster connections that enable sharing of knowledge and experience, build confidence, and develop new ideas and partnerships. It also seeks to reduce the isolation that creative individuals and groups may face. Over the past year, Sharing Together has backed a variety of peer-led and community-focused initiatives, such as The Autistic Writers Club, which offers a creative space for autistic women and non-binary individuals, and the AMPLIFY Wales Civic Music Network, which connects culturally diverse artists and community organisers.
Funding is available to both new and existing networks. New networks might use the grant to bring people together around shared interests or to create online creative communities. Existing groups can apply to expand membership, provide peer learning opportunities, strengthen partnerships, or explore sustainability. Eligible applicants include individual artists, creative practitioners, arts and community organisations, constituted groups, and partnerships.
This year, the fund particularly encourages applications from networks operating in or engaging with communities in Anglesey, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Flintshire, Merthyr Tydfil, Neath Port Talbot, and Torfaen. There is also a focus on supporting networks led by or involving people aged 60 and over, recognising their valuable experience and insight. Additionally, emerging artists aged 18-24 are a priority, with the fund aiming to help them build peer connections and professional support early in their careers.
The deadlines for applications are 27 January 2027 and 2 June 2027, both at 1pm. Alongside Sharing Together, the Arts Council of Wales also offers the Creative Communities fund, which provides grants up to £1,500 to voluntary and community groups for one-off arts projects focused on participation, especially targeting communities with limited creative opportunities or those underrepresented in funding.
Through these initiatives, the Arts Council of Wales continues to promote inclusive creative engagement and strengthen the cultural fabric of communities across the country.
